There’s also a new V-8 that’s good for 443 horsepower and 427 pound-feet, but the big news is the power bump in the Type R, which is now good for 567 horsepower and 516 pound-feet. The verdict: Jaguar’s updated 2021 F-Type R is even better-looking than before, and it delivers a winning mix of luxurious comfort, sports car performance and knockout style. Meanwhile, the supercharged V-6 carries over with 374 ponies and 379 pound-feet. The entry level models 2.0-liter four-cylinder is good for 295 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. However, that doesn’t mean you walk away from this department empty handed. That Range Rover hybrid system didn’t find its way into the lineup, and neither did BMW’s S63 V-8 – these will probably sit on the sidelines until the next-gen model debuts in 2023 or so. The standard F-Type starts just over 61,000 and comes handsomely equipped with LED headlights and taillights, 18-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, power. Standard is how we refer to the F-Types base trim. Things have changed under the hood, but maybe not quite as much as you might think.
